FESSU- EKSU P RESS NEWS In response to the order released yesterday by the federal government of Nigeria that all school activities should be closed over Coronavirus, the National Universities Commission (NUC) through it's deputy executive secretary (academics) Dr. Suleiman Ramon Yusuf that all Nigerian universities activities should be closed for a month commencing from 23rd March, 2020.

EKSU SUSPENDS ACTIVITIES; TELLS STUDENTS TO VACATE SCHOOL PREMISES IMMEDIATELY

The Ekiti State University suspends academic activities in the university. The decision was made today 20th March, 2020. The Senate deliberated on the Corona Virus pandemic, noting the decision of the Federal Government of Nigeria that all institutions be closed down. The Senate decisions are as follows: 1) That all activities in the university be suspended till further notice, except for postgraduate oral examinations that have already been fixed. 2) That all student should vacate their residences within and outside the campus since the university will not be responsible for their medical care during the period of suspension. 3) That the announcement of suspension of academic activities in the university be given sufficient publicity, so that the decision of the Senate could get to parents. 4) The University portal will remain open during the period to attend to students requests and queries.
