FESSU-EKSU: EPITOMIZING OUR CULTURAL HERITAGE; A STRONG CATALYST FOR BREAKING NEW GROUND.

At the heart of Friday, 21st of February, 2020, the Federation of Ekiti State Students' Union had her Cultural day in Ekiti State University as one of the major events encompassed in her FESSU-EKSU Week.

The event encompassed different segments such as: Inauguration of the Chief Patron, Traditional performances, Mr & Miss EKITI Cultural Heritage (E. C. H.), Symposium and some other glamorous spectacles.

In attendance were men of values and individuals of prospect and prestige in our society. Some of which are: Otunba Dotun Adetoberu (EKSU ALUMNI  National President), Mr Ajayi Dolapo (FESSU-EKSU Staff Adviser), Mr Ayodele Akande (A. Y. Nigeria), the Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, EKSU represented by Dr Fayomi among others. Some FESSU Presidents of other institutions were also present at the event. Some EKSU Students Leaders were present too, people like: Comr. Ore Adetiba (EKSUSU Vice President), Comr. Yinusa Oriyomi Wasiu (EKSUSU General Secretary), Comr. Adeniyi Adebanjo (Beejay), Rt. Hon. Lafiaji Lawrence (Rite Honourable Speaker, Faculty of Education), Comr. Alegbeleye Ayorinde Temitayo (FESSU-EKSU President), Comr. Adewale Joseph Damilola (FESSU-EKSU Senate President), among others.

Nigerian Students present were illuminated during the aspect of symposium anchored by Mr Ayodele Akande (A. Y . NIGERIA) tagged: Domestic Tourism. Here, Nigerian Students learnt a lot about the topic and found it very important, sacrosanct and germane to man's daily life.

After this, inauguration was properly and formally done for the Chief Patron of the Union in person of Otunba Dotun Adetoberu. The Staff Adviser of the Union expressed that having been tested and found capable, and also, having passed through the three generations of EKSU (Ondo State University, Ado {OSUA}, University of Ado-Ekiti {UNAD} and Ekiti State University {EKSU} in which we are now), Otunba Dotun Adetoberu has been capable and have been the right one for the office. He was given the tag of office by the President and the Senate President of the Union.

Traditional performance was made at the event. Panegyrics were chanted at the event and Sango performance was displayed. This epitomized Yoruba Culture but on the other hand, it scared the Invited guests and the Nigerian Students present.

In furtherance, Beauty Pageant was done (Mr&Miss E. C. H.). The contest was between two gorgeous ladies namely Adeyemo Toluwanimi Jolaade and Olatunbosun Ayomide. The pageant was a thug of war between the two contestants but by the verdict of the judges and the merit of the contestants, the winner was Olatunbosun Ayomide.

The winner was therefore crowned by the erstwhile Miss FESSU-EKSU of the Union.

Furthermore, the taste of Ekiti was done accordingly whereby a popular delicacy (Ekuru) was brought to the hall of event.

The event was filled with glamour and ecstacy for Ekiti Cultural Heritage was epitomized and portrayed as important to Ekiti State Students.

Moreover, all EKSUITES present were refreshed with Ekiti major Local delicacy (Pounded Yam) with mouth watering soup.

Conclusively, the current administration of FESSU-EKSU was commended by invited guests and stakeholders for this vivacious innovation and achievement.
